Smart Electronics and Communication Technology is essential and instrumental to reality in the today's context of technology driven world. In particular, these technologies leverage unheard innovative and creative opportunities to improve our quality of life. The increasing coverage of Electrical, electronics and communication technologies is driven by growth and to integrate, analyze, visualize and transform new novel engineering ideas. This International Conference on Smart Electronics and Communication (ICOSEC 2026) organized on 9-11, September 2026 by Kongunadu College of Engineering and Technology, Trichy is solely dedicated to create a conceivable platform for researchers, academician and scientists to interact and exchange the research ideas and results to develop a cost-effective and scalable Smart Electronics and Communication methods into existence.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE

Kongunadu College of Engineering and Technology (KNCET), established in 2007, is a self-financing institution approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. The institution was recognized by UGC under Sections 2(f) and 12(B), certified with ISO 9001:2015, and granted autonomous status from the academic year 2020–21. KNCET offers nine undergraduate programmes: B.E. in Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, CSE, EEE, ECE, and Mechanical Engineering; and B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and Information Technology. The institution also offers an M.E. in Applied Electronics programme. The Civil, CSE, ECE, EEE, IT, and Mechanical Engineering programmes have received permanent affiliation from Anna University. The institution has been accredited by NAAC, while the UG programmes in CSE, ECE, EEE, and Mechanical Engineering have been accredited by NBA. The Departments of CSE, ECE, Mechanical Engineering, and IT have also been recognized as research centres by Anna University. KNCET provides excellent facilities to promote academic excellence, research, employability, and entrepreneurship. The campus has modern classrooms with multimedia facilities, advanced laboratories, a digital library, Wi-Fi connectivity, and an eco-friendly learning environment. The institution has consistently demonstrated strong academic performance, with students securing numerous Anna University ranks.

A dedicated Campus to Corporate Centre bridges the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by providing intensive training in aptitude, communication, technical skills, and sustainable development. KNCET has consistently maintained a placement rate of over 90%, offering students opportunities in IT, core industries, ITES, and startups. The Kongunadu International Cell also supports students in exploring opportunities for higher education and employment abroad. The institution has established strong collaborations with industries, academic institutions, hospitals, and R&D organizations. Professional societies, student clubs, and institutional cells provide opportunities for students to develop technical, interpersonal, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills. The Research and Development Cell, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Kongunadu Innovation Council, IPR Cell, and other initiatives contribute to the holistic development of students. KNCET has established a robust network of Centres of Excellence that support faculty and students in skill development and converting innovative ideas into prototypes and products. These include facilities in PCB Design and Development, Signal Processing and Networking, Data Science and Big Data Analytics, Networking, Industrial Automation, IoT and Embedded Systems, Energy Studies, Auto Electronics, Product Design and Development, and Cyber Security. These centres bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world applications while fostering hands-on experimentation, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

The institution has received research and innovation funding of over ₹5 crores from prestigious agencies including AICTE, CSIR, DST-ANRF, DBT, TNSCST, ISRO, MSME, StartupTN, NABARD, and others. KNCET has made significant contributions to intellectual property, with 103 published patents, 21 industrial designs, and 10 granted patents. KNCET has developed a vibrant innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. It has been recognized as a Host Institute for Business Incubation by MSME and has established the Kongunadu AICTE IDEA Lab to foster innovation, research, and hands-on learning. The institution is also recognized as a Pre-Incubation Center by StartupTN and has implemented a startup policy through the Ministry of Education's Institution Innovation Council to promote entrepreneurship and intellectual property development. Students of KNCET have demonstrated exceptional talent in national-level examinations, technical competitions, project expos, and hackathons. The institution has consistently excelled in the Smart India Hackathon, with 3 teams participating and 1 team winning in SIH 2022, followed by continued participation and Grand Finale qualifications in subsequent editions. Students have also received recognition and awards in the Naan Mudhalvan Niral Hackathon, VIT Vellore Hackathon, IISF S&T Hackathon, and various other innovation programmes. The institution has received numerous awards and recognitions for academic excellence, innovation, skill development, environmental initiatives, and holistic development. Recent achievements include the Green Campus Award, Skill Excellence Award, recognition in engineering institution rankings, innovation awards, and recognition from the Ministry of Education's Institution Innovation Council. KNCET also gives significant importance to sports and physical well- being. The campus offers excellent facilities including a multipurpose indoor stadium, squash court, air rifle range, floodlit 400-meter track, boxing ring, yoga hall, separate gyms, and playgrounds for various sports. Students have won several Zonal, Inter-Zonal, and University-level championships and have represented the institution in national and regional university tournaments.
